On December 15th, less than 2 weeks from today, I’ll turn 50.
My life thus far has been packed with interesting (to me) events and occurrences, in spite of the fact that I was usually incredibly depressed. This last year, I’m thrilled to say, has been my best year ever. I’ve written prior “countdowns” in the last couple of weeks — here and here, and I may write one or two more.
My intention behind writing these (beyond ‘yay! It’s my birthday!’) is to demonstrate that all kinds of lives can be good lives. I strived for way too long to make myself fit into a box that my soul denied. Please don’t do that to your beautiful soul!
I also wanted to show people another way, *my way,* of being a 50-damn-year-old woman.
